Brush Fires Pop Up at Three Locations in Baldwin County
BALDWIN COUNTY Ala.

Small “spot” brush fires throughout Baldwin County kept fire departments busy for several hours.
The brush/grass fires were all relatively small, began within a small window of time, and popped up along Interstate 65, County Road 225, and Foley Beach Express.
The fire along CR 225 was first reported at about 2:00 p.m. and several fire departments were dispatched to extinguish that one.
But firefighters arriving at the fire found that several areas along the roadway had fires burning as well and they called for additional assistance from the Bay Minette Fire Department and the Alabama State Forestry Department.
While these firefighters were contending with these fires, several small fires were reported close by along Interstate 65 which sent several fire departments to those.
At around 3:20 p.m., the Foley Fire Department was dispatched to a small brush fire on the Foley Beach Express but when they arrived in the area, they too spotted several other fires along the expressway that were in several other jurisdictions.
Robertsdale and Summerdale Fire Departments were then dispatched to the fires in their areas and quickly extinguished them before they could spread further.
At this time there has been no official determination as to what caused any of the fires.
