A half of a dozen brush fires throughout the county Tuesday kept area firefighters busy for most of the day.
Several of the fire departments were called to more than one fire, while some of the fires required multiple fire departments to be dispatched to get fires contained.
For the past week, both Baldwin and Mobile Counties have seen a number of grass and brush fires start because someone was burning trash or other debris and the fire got away from them.
An afternoon fire on County Road 32 in the Fish River/Marlow community took several fire departments about an hour to extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Overnight rains should prevent some of these fires for at least the next few days.
In the last few days, Daphne, Fairhope, Marlow, Robertsdale, Bay Minette, Rosinton, Slverhill, and Loxley fire departments have been called out for brush fires.
