Bay Minette Police Charge Sleeping Man With Illegal Gun and Drug Possession

BAY MINETTE, Ala. On June 3, 2025, a Bay Minette Police Officer conducting routine patrol observed a vehicle stationary on D’Olive Street with the driver asleep behind the wheel. The vehicle was still running and in drive, so the officer made contact with the driver, later identified as Anthony Maurice Parker Jr of Mobile Al, and immediately observed a handgun in plain view inside the vehicle. The officer also detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed that Parker is a previously convicted felon, with past convictions for Robbery 1st and Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess Firearms.
A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of:
- 36 grams of marijuana
- 11 grams of synthetic marijuana
- 80 ecstasy pills
- A loaded 9mm handgun
Parker was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
- Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm
- Unlawful Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance
- Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree
- Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Parker was transported to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility and is currently being held on a $23,500 bond.
This case remains under investigation
