Baldwin County Search and Rescue Operation Quickly Finds Lost Man

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. On Saturday, July 18th, 2026, the Baldwin County 911 Communications Center received a 911 call from a man who said that he was lost in some woods and needed help.
That kicked off an immediate search and rescue operation in the east part of Baldwin County.
He also told the dispatcher that he was very hot, tired, out of water and dispatchers immediately sent multiple first responder agencies to the last known area where he possibly was, however, at that point dispatchers lost contact with the person.
The Gateswood Volunteer Fire Department, Medstar and Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office coordinated their efforts at around 12:15 p.m. near the Duck Place Road and within about forty-five minutes searchers had found the man and brought him out of the woods to safety.
Medstar said that the man had minor injuries, scratches and appeared to be in good condition.
