Attempted Murder Suspect Surrenders to Atmore Police

ATMORE, Ala. A man who was wanted for attempted murder turned himself in on Wednesday.

The Atmore Police Department said that Brandon James McNeal, 29, is charged in connection with a shooting that occurred at approximately 8:17 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Carver Avenue and 5th Street, police said.

Police and emergency personnel were dispatched to the address and found one person shot.

According to investigators, before fleeing the scene McNeal discharged a weapon at another person and fired into more than one residence.

Additional charges related to the discharge of a firearm into an occupied building will be added to this case, officials said.

McNeal was booked into the Escambia County Detention Center.
He is currently being held without a bond.
