Another Prichard Police Officer Arrested in Corruption Investigation

MOBILE COUNTY AL. An ongoing investigation into corruption at the Prichard Police Department has led to another arrest.

Captain Michael Knight of the Prichard Police Department was arrested Wednesday night as part of the ongoing corruption investigation that has rocked the department.

Knight is the sixth Prichard police officer charged in the investigation.

The investigation began earlier this year with the arrest of Officer Ryan Phillips.
He was arrested in March on allegations involving stolen firearms, with federal court records later alleging he stole weapons while on duty.
Officer Emmanuel Dotch was arrested following the June 16 law enforcement raid, and Officer Jihad Irby was later charged as the investigation expanded.
Last week, former Police Chief Walter Knight and former Major Aaron Tucker were each indicted on charges of use of office for personal gain and second-degree theft of property related to allegations involving funeral escort operations.

Mobile Metro Jail records show Knight was booked around 8 p.m. on charges of use of office for personal gain and theft by deception.

Investigators with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office say that their investigation is continuing.
