The city of Mobile has spent nearly $5 million-dollars on upgrades to the cruise terminal and several exciting announcements have followed those upgrades.
It has been recently announced that Mobile will soon be a port of call for another cruise line starting in 2026. And in 2027, the city is also preparing for year-round cruises with Carnival which will no doubt be exciting for downtown businesses, hotels, restaurants, and the area in general.

“These passengers are paying anywhere from $4,000-$9,000 a piece for the cruise so they’re a group that really loves the arts, the culture, and the culinary so this is a whole other game changer,” said Visit Mobile President & CEO David Clark.
Visit Mobile President & CEO David Clark says the first cruise will leave from New Orleans and have six ports of calls between there and Pensacola. At each stop, passengers will be able to get off the ship and explore everything the city has to offer for about 12 hours. Clark says he’s hopeful this could lead to further cruise expansion in Mobile.

Clark says American Cruise Lines will be here four times, and the first ship will leave from New Orleans on March 1st and make a stop here in Mobile. Meanwhile the Carnival Spirit is scheduled to be back here for six months starting in October and will feature new 14- and 16-day trips.
Cruise lines generally attract more tourists and businesses to the area and Mobile is in the middle of great things for the port city.
