MOBILE, Ala. A Prichard man has been sentenced after being found guilty in August of the 2023 murder of another man at a gas station in Mobile.
Devanta Hall, 25, was involved in a fatal shooting at the Pride Gas Station on St. Stephens Road on June 18, 2023.
According to a Mobile County District Attorney’s Office, Hall was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of 22-year-old LeCharles King.
He was also sentenced to 20 years for shooting into an occupied vehicle and time served for reckless endangerment. All sentences will be served at the same time.
Among the evidence presented at trial was surveillance video that showed someone getting out of Hall’s vehicle with a rifle and opening fire on King’s vehicle. Hall then got out with a handgun and fired multiple rounds into the vehicle.
Though he was shot multiple times, King got out of the car and ran a short distance before he collapsed and died from his injuries. Hall fled the area.
“Hall senselessly opened fire into an occupied vehicle at a gas station, taking King’s life and putting others in danger,” said District Attorney Keith Blackwood.
“Today’s life sentence reflects the gravity of his actions.”
