Near Drowning of Child Reported in Spanish Fort

SPANISH FORT Ala. At approximately 5:25 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025, the county 911 communications center received 911 calls of a drowning in Spanish Fort.
The Spanish Fort police and fire departments along with an area ambulance responded to a home on Blakeley Forest Blvd, where an eight-year-old was found unconscious and not breathing after being found in a pool.
Emergency medical personnel provided immediate care and were able to resuscitate the child who was then transported by ambulance to the University of South Alabama trauma center.
At this time, we do not know the condition of the child.
This is the second weekend in Baldwin County where a child has nearly drowned.
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, emergency responders were dispatched to a drowning where a two-year-old child was found at the bottom of a pool at 6525 Battles Rd, the Sweetwater Café at the Grand Hotel.
Firefighters and medics were able to resuscitate the child and rushed her to an area trauma center.
