Atmore Police Charge Man With Attempted Murder

ATMORE, Ala. Atmore Police Department officers have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that happened over the weekend.
Police officers, firefighters and EMS were called to a person shot in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 6th, 2026.
According to police, Michkel Jones was arrested and is charged with two counts of attempt to commit the crime of murder.
Jones is being held in the Escambia County Detention Center.
This is an active investigation.
