Baldwin County Deputies Make Arrest in Arson

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. Deputies with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a structure fire in the Perdido area of the county along with several area volunteer fire departments.
The brand-new home was destroyed, and deputies conducted an investigation and determined the fire to be an arson.
Forensic evidence and surveillance camera video helped investigators identify 53-year-old Ronald Rex Johnson as the person who set the home ablaze.
The home stood on McKinley Road. The owners said the home was being built from scratch and was almost done and was completely furnished.
At this time the sheriff’s office has not released a motive for this arson.
