Halls Mill Business Shooting Leaves One Person Dead

MOBILE, AL. On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Mobile County 911 Communications Center received a call about a shooting at an area business.

Police officers were dispatched and responded to 4454 Halls Mill Road (Chips Auto Glass) in reference to the shooting.

The Mobile Fire-Rescue/EMS were also dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a fatal gunshot wound in the parking lot of the business.

Mobile police said that upon further investigation, officers discovered the victim arrived at the business and initiated an altercation with a male individual. It was discovered that the victim pointed a handgun at the subject, and that’s when the subject shot the victim.

Police said that the person who fired the shot left the scene and drove himself to Mobile Police Department’s 2nd Precinct to turn himself in, where officers detained him and he was interviewed by investigators.
At this time, no arrest has been made.

This case has been handed over to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office for review. At this time, no further information will be released.

The victim has been identified as Evan Bagley, 25.
