PENSACOLA Fla. Authorities say that a suspect involved in the 4th of July shooting in downtown Pensacola was found deceased when law enforcement went to arrest him.
Police and US Marshals said that they were attempting to serve a warrant for manslaughter to the suspect who has now been identified as 20-year-old Trevon Bradley for shooting and killing Phillip Sheppard on July 5, 2026.
When law enforcement knocked on the apartment door, announcing they had a warrant for Bradley, a female and child who were in the apartment were allowed to leave.
Bradley was told by law enforcement to come out of the apartment and surrender.
However, authorities said that he refused to exit the apartment and police heard gunshots and that a short time later a remote-controlled camera was placed in the apartment, and it was discovered that Bradley died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation is continuing into this case.
No further details have been released.
