MOBILE, AL. Police in mobile have released more information about a fatal wreck that occurred early Sunday morning in Tillman’s Coner.
According to Mobile Police Department’s Public Affairs Manager Blake Brown, speed played a part in the crash as did other factors.
Brown identified the man killed in the wreck as 55-year-old Anthony Licalzi.
“Highway 90 in Tillman’s corner is a high-traffic area,” Mobile Police Department Public Affairs Manager Blake Brown said. “There are a lot of drivers that go through that area throughout all times of day. “
Mobile police said that the driver of the second vehicle involved in the wreck was identified as 20-year-old Luis Lopez.
Police determined that Lopez was speeding down Highway 90 near Halls Mill Road when he lost control of his vehicle crashing into Licalzi causing the vehicle to roll over trapping Licalzi and he was pronounced deceased on scene according to Brown.
After a police investigation, police charged Lopez with Manslaughter.
Investigators said that they are waiting on test results to determine if alcohol was a factor and police said that the manslaughter charge could be upgraded.
