BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. A brush fire in the Robertsdale area on Tuesday turned into a battle and the winds helped to spread flames across a large area near County Road 87 and Sead Orchard Road.
Several fire departments, and the Alabama Forestry Department fought the growing fire for several hours into the late afternoon.
The sheriff’s office also dispatched its Rural Enforcement Unit to the area.
Witnesses said that at times the flames were taller than the trees.
Andrew Reier, the Public Information Officer for the Alabama Forestry Commission told me that approximately 43 acres of woodlands burned during this far.
There were no injuries reported and no homes were involved in this fire event.
