GULF SHORES, Ala. Once again, this year, alcohol will not be allowed on the beaches during the 2026 spring break.
As in previous years, police will strictly enforce this as well as looking for minors who are in possession of alcohol.
Each year during Spring Break, police make dozens of alcohol related arrests.
City officials said the policy has proven successful during the past decade. The city council approved the plan Monday night.
The ban runs March 1 through April 28, prohibiting any possession or consumption of alcohol on public beaches.
Mobile and Baldwin County schools, along with Saraland, Orange Beach, and Gulf Shores city schools, celebrate spring break this year April 13 through April 17.
