Commercial Truck Driver Dies in Interstate-65 Wreck

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. An 18-wheeler truck that crashed on Interstate 65 near mile marker 31 has claimed the life of the driver.
According to ALEA, the single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, has claimed the life of a Hammond, La., man.
Area firefighters and EMS responded to the wreck along with local and state law enforcement, but Timothy Andre Tate, 52, was fatally injured and did not survive the crash.
Troopers said that the 2020 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees. After the initial collision, the tractor-trailer then crossed over the highway, left the roadway, and struck a second set of trees. Tate was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Interstate 65 approximately five miles northwest of Bay Minette, in Baldwin County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
