Two Homes in Mobile Set Ablaze by Lightning

MOBILE, Ala. Fires at two homes almost at the same time were caused by lightning strikes, a spokesperson for the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department reported.
The first fire was reported at about 6:49 p.m. in the 600 block of Palmetto Street and the second was reported at about 6:57 p.m. in the 3800 block of Camellia Drive East, according to MFRD.
During the time of the fires, a strong thunderstorm was moving through the area that had a lot of lightning with it.
Firefighters were able to bring both fires under control but damage to the homes was reported.
There were no reports of any injuries at either location.
