75-Year-Old Man Indicted For Murder

MOBILE, Ala. A 75-year-old man who was charged with murder has now been indicted by a Mobile County grand jury.

Walter Lee Thames Sr. has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of 65-year-old Patricia Odoms in July of this year.

Thames was booked into Mobile Metro Jail on Thursday morning and is being held without bond.

According to Mobile Police Department officials, their officers were called to the 1500 block of Matzenger Drive around 12:30 a.m. on July 4 for a report of an assault.

When officers arrived, they said they found Odoms with a gunshot wound. Her injuries were originally listed as non-life-threatening, but she died on July 13 from them.

Police said that there had been an argument before the shooting.
