2 Year Old Near Drowning Reported at Fairhope Resort

FAIRHOPE Ala. A confirmed near drowning of a two-year-old child at a Fairhope area resort on Saturday sent the child to a hospital and the incident is being investigated.

Baldwin County 911 Communications received calls about a child found at the bottom of a pool at 6525 Battles Rd, the Sweetwater Café at the Grand Hotel.

The Fairhope Fire Department, law enforcement, and EMS were dispatched to the address, and meanwhile, the child was pulled from the pool and bystanders were able to get the child breathing.

EMS transported the child to an area hospital.

Witnesses stated that they did not know how long the child had been in the pool.
