Walmart Shoplifter Who Fled Police Charged With Robbery
MOBILE, Ala.

A shoplifting incident at a Walmart store over the weekend has landed one person in jail.
An off-duty police officer working security at the 101 East Interstate Service Road South location tried to stop a man, later identified as 42-year-old Roy Hamilton Jr. of Mobile for theft.
Mobile police said that Hamilton fled the officer.
Additional officers responded and Hamilton was taken into custody.
Hamilton was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree theft of property, attempt to elude and third-degree retail theft of property.
