Volunteer Chaplain Arrested at Alabama Prison Facility

BULLOCK COUNTY, Ala. According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, a volunteer chaplain was taken into custody and arrested after authorities found contraband in his vehicle.
An ADOC representative stated that Andrew Turner, a former inmate and chaplain, faces criminal charges after a search of Turner’s car by the ADOC’s K-9 team found an illegal handgun and marijuana.
Turner was immediately arrested and taken to the Bullock County Jail on charges of second-degree possession of marijuana and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
An investigation is ongoing and more charges may be pending, the department said.
