Two Persons Arrested in MoneyGram Scheme

FAIRHOPE Ala.

Fairhope police investigators were notified of a scam at a Fairhope pharmacy where two people fraudulently shortchanged a clerk at the business while sending money through MoneyGram wire transfer.

Police learned that the two were from Brooklyn and had completed a similar scheme at a business in Daphne.

Nicolae Strava and Loredana Gita Rostaare were apprehended in Tallahassee, Florida where they are accused of committing the same offense.

Both are charged with Theft in the 3rd degree.

Fairhope Investigator Brittney Jackson successfully identified the suspects through collaboration with the Daphne Police Department and a Texas intelligence-sharing agency.

Both individuals could face other charges in Alabama and Florida.
