Truck Fire Shuts Down Northbound Interstate 65

SARALAND, AL. A commercial eighteen-wheel truck caught fire Tuesday morning, January 20, 2026, on Interstate 65 blocking traffic all northbound lanes.
ALEA reported the fire shortly after 9 a.m. and stated that the vehicle fire was at the Saraland exit.
State Troopers and fire personnel responded, and troopers shut down Interstate 65 south of where the truck fire was located and traffic was rerouted.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
