Mobile Police Taking Applications For Citizen’s Academy

The Mobile Police Department has announced that registration for their next Citizen’ Police Academy is open and that applications will be taken through March 28, 2025.

The Citizen’s Academy is scheduled for April 15, 2025, through June 24, 2025, at 1251 Virginia Street.

The academy is free and open to qualifying Mobile County residents and nonresidents who work in the city of Mobile. Participants must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license with no significant arrest history.
All participants will undergo a background check.

These classes will be held on Tuesday nights, but there will be two Saturday classes required during the duration of the academy.

Crime Scene Security and Investigation

Traffic Operations

Tactical Unit Callout

Bomb Detail

Case Investigation
