A violent and unusual crime committed by a teenager in Fairhope has led to the arrest of Lorenzo Guzman-Reyes on several felonies including 1st degree rape and 1st degree kidnapping charges.
Fairhope Lt. Shane Nolte with the Fairhope police department said that the teen lured a woman to a home pretending that he wanted to hire her as a housekeeper.
Police said that he even sent an Uber to her house to pick her up and bring her to his trailer off of County Road 34. But what she walked into, Fairhope Lt. Shane Nolte said, was not what was advertised.
“When she came in, he closed the door, locked it, pulled out a firearm, held her at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her,” Nolte said.
Lorenzo Guzman-Reyes was out on bond when this alleged rape happened.
Fairhope police was already familiar with Guzman-Reyes because they said that last year, he lured two men to his apartment pretending to be selling an iPhone. Guzman-Reyes and a 17-year-old were accused of robbing the men at gunpoint and taking their wallets and phones during the scheme at a Fly Creek Apartment in Fairhope.
According to jail records, Guzman-Reyes was out on bond for domestic violence charges when the robbery took place.
On Friday, considering the new rape and kidnapping charges, the ADA is once again asking for bond to be revoked.
Currently Guzman-Reyes bond has been set at $200,000 for the two felony charges.
The Baldwin County Detention Center has a policy to not release photos of anyone under the age of 21 years old.
