Elderly Pedestrian Killed in Mobile County

MOBILE COUNTY, AL. A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 9:17 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, has claimed the life of a Theodore man.
The pedestrian, Dannie J. Palmer, 71, was critically injured after being struck by the 2004 GMC Envoy, driven by Jeremy S. Saunders, Jr., 25, of Theodore.
Palmer was transported to USA Health Providence Hospital in Mobile for treatment, where he succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on Theordore Dawes Road near Spanish Trail Drive, within Mobile City Limits, in Mobile County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
