FAIRHOPE Ala. The Fairhope police have now upgraded the charges against a Daphne teenager charged with what has been called an “unintentional” shooting of a female during an unsupervised house party in a Rock Creek neighborhood.

The sixteen-year-old teenager involved in the May 24, 2025, shooting has now been charged as an adult with one count of second-degree assault, a felony, according to the Fairhope Police Department.

The teenager was one of multiple teens at a party on the 200 block of Rock Creek Parkway and it has been alleged that alcohol was involved at the gathering of teens.

Investigators said the teen picked up a revolver, played with it, and pulled the trigger, hitting a 17-year-old girl in the neck.

The girl was taken to the University Hospital’s trauma ICU. She remains in stable condition, according to police.

At this time, police have not said if anyone would be charged in this incident.
