Daphne City Court Temporarily Being Held at Civic Center

DAPHNE, Ala. The City of Daphne is temporarily moving its court over to the Daphne Civic Center as renovations at the courthouse get underway.
According to information from the city, the Daphne court will be held at the civic center until all renovations are complete but there is no exact date given for that completion.
The Daphne Municipal Magistrate Office will stay open at the Daphne Justice Center.
We spoke to Daphne Police Chief Gulsby about security concerns and he stated that correction officers will transport prisoners from the Justice Center to the temporary courtroom and provide security during the court hearings.
The Daphne Court only handles misdemeanor cases.
This change will take effect next Tuesday, June 3.
