State Trooper’s Patrol Car Catches Fire During Traffic Stop

An ALEA state trooper who was out on a traffic stop on Baldwin Beach Express near CR 38 Tuesday evening said that he suddenly realized that his patrol car was on fire.

The vehicle began to burn fast as the trooper quickly called for the fire department.

Summerdale firefighters were dispatched to the area near Rattlesnake Ridge Trail and quickly arrived and brought the fire under control but not before there was a considerable amount of damage to the police vehicle.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
