Sprinklers extinguished fire at Daphne Hotel 

DAPHNE Ala. August 31, 2024

On 8/29 Daphne Fire Department responded to a fire alarm activation at Homewood Suites located at 29474 Main St.

While enroute to the incident, Baldwin Central upgraded the call to a commercial structure fire based off reports from occupants. 

Upon arrival it was reported that the fire was caused by cooking in a unit on the 6th floor and the fire sprinklers activated and extinguished the fire prior to the arrival of the first engine.  

As a result, the fire was contained to the kitchen space of the unit and the building only had water damage on the surrounding areas. 

No injuries were reported during the fire.

Between the fast response from the Daphne Fire Department and the fire sprinkler, it contained and extinguished the fire before it could spread further.
