Son Arrested in Father’s Murder in Mobile

MOBILE, AL. During the early morning hours of Tuesday, morning police responded to a stabbing in the 5400 block of Forest Park Drive. They discovered a male victim deceased inside the home.

Police later identified the victim as 57-year-old Ronald McGowan.

Homicide investigators have now determined that there was an altercation between father and son that led to the stabbing.

Police now say that they have arrested 34-year-old Justin Keith McGowan of Wilmer in connection to a fatal stabbing of his father during the early morning argument.

Justin McGowan was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries from the altercation, police said.
He was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail Tuesday afternoon on a murder charge. He has a bond hearing set for Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
