A family relaxing at home Thursday night suddenly got a scare when smoke began to fill the
garage just before 7:30 p.m.
The Baldwin County 911 center received a call about a possible structure fire at 7598 Lake Blvd. in the
Crossroads Community, not far from Spanish Fort.
Both, the Crossroads and the Whitehouse Forks Fire Departments responded to the home, and upon investigation found that a Lithium Battery in a golf cart had overheated and was smoking.
The vehicle was moved outdoors and the battery was removed.
There was no fire damage to the home reported.
