Semmes Police Officer Injured After Crashing Into Light Pole

SEMMES, Ala. A Semmes Police Officer was injured and hospitalized Saturday night after crashing into a pole while responding to a call to assist another officer.

Chief Todd Freind says one of his officers, which he did not identify, was involved in an accident trying to help another officer.

Chief Freind, said that a truck pulling a trailer pulled out in front of the officer, causing him to swerve and strike a pole.
The location of the wreck was not identified by the chief.

Freind says the officer was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries.
