Saraland Woman Killed in Interstate 65 Wreck

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Ala.
A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:01 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, has claimed the life of a Saraland woman.
Victoria B. Rodgers, 74, was fatally injured when the 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan she was driving was struck by the 2022 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Henry L. Howard, 61, of Montgomery.
After the initial impact, the Volkswagen left the roadway, struck a cable barrier, and overturned. Rodgers was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 60-mile marker, approximately three miles north of Atmore, in Escambia County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
