PRICHARD, Ala. A Pritchard police officer has been arrested after a secret Grand Jury Indictment was handed down.
Ryan Phillips was arrested on Thursday, March 12, 2026, and charged with three counts of receiving stolen property.
According to a news release from Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood, Phillips is accused of a theft from a crime scene.
On February 12, 2026, officers responded to a shooting on Wesley Avenue that left a woman dead. Investigators found 14 firearms, including some that were reportedly stolen.
Following the shooting, city officials confirmed a Prichard police officer was involved in the shooting.
The case was then handed over to the DA’s office.
Phillips’ bond is set at $15,000 for each charge he faces.
The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
“The badge represents public trust,” said District Attorney Keith Blackwood. “When evidence shows that someone in a position of public trust may have violated the law, we have a duty to act immediately. These charges reflect the evidence presented to the Grand Jury, and the case will now proceed through the AL Criminal Justice system, Blackwood said.”
