Police Charge Man With Criminal Mischief, Theft of Property, Burglary, Attempt to Elude

Police responding to a 911 call on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, were able to make a quick arrest of a person who was responsible for a burglary and theft.
Officers responded at approximately 10:58 p.m. to 901 E. I-65 Service Road S. after receiving a call about a crime that had occurred at AutoNation.
After taking a report of the theft of keys and a pickup truck, officers continued patrolling, and a short time later observed the vehicle that had been reported stolen.
Mobile police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop.
The driver was near Victor Road and was detained without incident.
Two passengers exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
The driver of the vehicle identified as Carmikeal Longmire, 26, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.
Longmire faces charges of:
ATTEMPT TO ELUDE
PROBATION REVOCATION
THEFT OF PROPERTY 3RD DEGREE
ATTEMPT -BURGLARY 3RD DEGREE
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1ST
BURGLARY 3RD DEGREE
Longmire, who was already out on bond, is currently being held without bond.
