PINE GROVE, Ala. A family is without a home after fire destroyed their residence in a rural part of Baldwin County.
Hailey Jones, a single mother of two daughters said that their house was heavily damaged and most everything that they had, has been destroyed.
Everyone was able to escape safely and for that, they are happy and blessed.
Jones was helping her two and four-year-old daughters get ready for pre-school on Tuesday morning when she noticed a weird smell.
After looking around, she spotted flames and tried to grab a fire extinguisher, but it was too late, so she grabbed her children and fled outdoors.
The Baldwin County 911 Communications Center received calls about the fire and dispatched the Pine Grove Volunteer Fire Department and other firefighters, but the fire had already consumed much of the residence.
The family needs help from the community. Jones hopes that somehow the home will be rebuilt.
Family members have also started an online fundraiser to help Hailey and her kids get back on their feet. Any donations for the family can be dropped off at Advanced Auto Parts in Robertsdale on AL-59.
The fire department believes that the fire started in an electrical box but said that the fire is still under investigation.
