Phone APP Alerted 911 to Serious Car Crash

The Belforest Volunteer Fire Department was notified Sunday afternoon just before 1 p.m. to respond to the area of County Road 64 to investigate an Automatic Crash Notification that had been generated from a cellphone.
While fire engines were responding to that area, several other phone calls were received by Baldwin 911 saying that there were several vehicles involved in an accident on CR 64 and that one vehicle was on fire.
As firefighters arrived, an ambulance and a state trooper were also sent to the scene.
BVFD personnel quickly extinguished the vehicle fire and assisted with treating one of the individuals involved.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the crash scene.
