Person Accidentally Shot in Foley

FOLEY, AL. Authorities responded to a shooting Friday afternoon shortly after 3 p.m.
Foley police received a call that a person had been shot on Lakeview Circle.

Officers responded to the home along with the Foley Fire Department and EMS after a person reportedly had accidentally shot themselves in the hand while unloading a firearm.

The elderly man was treated on scene and then transported to an area hospital.

Police believe that this was an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound.

There is no threat to the community, police said.
