OWA Drowning Victim Saved by Onsite Staff

FOLEY, Ala. A fun day at the OWA Tropic Falls Waterpark on Monday, July 6th, 2025, turned into a sudden emergency when a teenager was found not breathing in a drowning event at around 3:45 p.m.
The Baldwin County 911 Communication Center received numerous calls about a drowning at OWA and immediately dispatched rescue personnel that included law enforcement, the Foley Fire Department, and EMS.
A medical helicopter was also dispatched to the scene.
Meanwhile, onsite staff, including an EMT, pulled the teenager out of the water and began CPR and resuscitation efforts.
With the assistance of EMS and the onsite staff, they were able to get the boy, who was between 12-14 years old, breathing, and he was rushed by ambulance to South Baldwin Hospital.
His condition at this time is unknown. OWA has been contacted for further information, and we’ll update our story when they reply.
