One Dead, Semmes Police Officer Injured in Wreck

SEMMES, Ala. A two-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving a Semmes police officer that has resulted in a fatality has been reported in Mobile County.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:46 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2026, on Alabama 217 near John Paul Road.

At this time, we know that one person is deceased and that a Semmes police officer has been injured. Their names have not been released.
We do not know if the officer was on duty or if he was engaged in a law enforcement duty.

The road remains closed at this time as ALEA conducts an investigation.
