An ALEA trooper conducting a traffic stop Thursday afternoon along the Baldwin Beach Express found a driver who did not want to comply and refused the trooper’s lawful commands.
It happened around 1:45 p.m. when the trooper pulled a vehicle over near US 90 and asked the driver for his license and other customary documents that officers request during most traffic stops.
But, this driver was less than cooperative and additional law enforcement had to be called to the scene.
The driver was taken out of the vehicle and arrested.
Kenneth Douglas Berger, 63, has been charged with Obstructing Government Operations and he also had an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Appear in court on a prior charge.
Berger was transported to the Baldwin County Detention Center.
There were no injuries to the trooper or the driver.
Earlier in the day in Mobile County, another trooper had a short pursuit when a driver failed to pull over when the trooper activated his emergency equipment.
