Early this morning, law enforcement in Alabama was notified that a kidnapping suspect who fled North Carolina on the run may be in Alabama.
An alert was sent to all law enforcement agencies in the state including the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to be on the lookout for a Dodge pickup extended cab with a Texas plate and they were able to provide the tag number as well.
At approximately 10 a.m., police were able to identify that the suspect was indeed in Alabama and ALEA troopers began to stage along Interstate 65 where the vehicle had been tracked to.
At 10:45 a.m., state troopers located the suspect vehicle southbound on I-65 near Mobile County and a pursuit ensued.
Troopers and other law enforcement were able to stop the suspect off Exit 22 and take him into custody.
The suspect has been identified as Marshaun Lynn Robinson, 49.
At this time, the kidnapping suspect is being held locally and will be facing charges in Alabama and he will also be extradited to North Carolina to face multiple charges.
Because the suspect crossed state lines, he may also face federal charges.
