Mount Vernon Man Dies in Motor Vehicle Collision

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. ALEA is reporting that a two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, involving several vehicles.
Tragically, the wreck has claimed the life of a Mount Vernon man.
Troopers said that the wreck has claimed the life of a Mount Vernon man.
Troopers said that Zebedee Marks, 73, was critically injured when the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup he was driving was struck by the 2026 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Michael O. Kidd, 60, of Mobile.
Marks was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to the Mobile Infirmary in Saraland, where he succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on U.S. 43 near the 22-mile marker, approximately five miles south of Mount Vernon, in Mobile County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
