Mobile Police Report Over 1 Million Attendees-Few Arrests During Mardi Gras Parades

MOBILE, Ala. The 2026 Mardi Gras parades are over and from all accounts, it was another very successful year for the City of Mobile.
According to the Mobile Police Department, here’s the events by the numbers:
The Mobile Police Department estimates 125,030 people attended parades on Fat Tuesday.
Police towed 81 vehicles, responded to 1 lost child, made 7 misdemeanor arrests and 1 felony arrest.
The numbers for all of the parades combined show a substantial increase in attendance and an overall well-behaved crowd.
Police estimate that 1,341,358 people attended all parades combined.
Police said that 383 vehicles towed for various violations.
Mobile police said that they made a total of 34 misdemeanor arrests and 7 felony arrests but did not specify the charges.
Police also responded to 9 reports of lost children which were all found safe.
Mobile police also reported that a rider was detained briefly during the final parade but not arrested. He was detained for aggressively tossing throws at revelers but released. The organization said that it would handle it internally.
