Mobile Police Investigating Homicides and Several Shootings

MOBILE, AL.
In less than 24 hours, Mobile police have responded to several homicides and shootings and are working multiple cases at the same time.
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at approximately 11:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 7600 block of Elm Circle after a 911 caller reported a shooting.
Mobile police reported that several officers arrived on scene and discovered a female victim deceased with a fatal gunshot injury.
Officers also discovered a male victim and a female victim with life-threatening injuries inside of the home. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered a known male subject shot the victims during a domestic altercation.
At this time police have identified the deceased victim has been identified as Laurie Gilchrist, 61.
