Mobile Police Investigating Death Near Railroad Tracks

MOBILE, AL. On Friday, January 23, 2026, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers responded to the 7100 block of Smith Street in reference to a body discovered.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim deceased near the train tracks.

At this time, it appears the victim was struck by a train, but an autopsy will ultimately determine the cause of death.

Police did not release the victim’s name or further details.
