MOBILE, Ala. A man who walked into the BankPlus branch on Montlimar Drive in July has pleaded guilty to bank robbery.
In court this week, Dillin Tucker acknowledged that he walked into the bank, handed a note to a teller and then grabbed a bag holding $2400 and ran out the bank doors.
The note said, “Don’t Panic this money aint yours if you make any move I’m going to blow all of us up I Don’t care about Dying!!!”
An employee of the bank followed Tucker in her own vehicle and watched him walk into the woods off Pleasant Valley Road and come out wearing different clothes.
She called police and they soon arrived.
Police said they found the money and the note in his backpack.
The bank robbery charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Federal prosecutors agreed to recommend leniency in exchange for Tucker’s guilty plea, but he still faces a substantial amount of time in federal prison.
A judge has set sentencing for January 19, 2027.
