A fast-moving and hot fire quickly destroyed a home near the Dog River on Sunday night.
Multiple fire units from the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department were dispatched at about 8:39 p.m.

The caller who was located on the other side of the river could only give dispatches a general location of where the burning home was.
Mobile Fire Units were initially dispatched to the 3200 block of Venetia Drive, but firefighters found the actual fire location in the 2400 block of Venetia Drive where found a two-story wood frame residence that was showing heavy fire.
Firefighters conducted a primary and secondary search inside the structure for victims, but the house was found to be empty.
The fire was brought under control and extinguished in about an hour and extensive fire damage was reported.
There were no reports of injuries and there was no information on any mutual-aid assistance.
MFRD stated that the fire is under investigation.
